Law Enforcement

Hanover Township has two experienced and dedicated officers under contract from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.  These officers serve the residents of Hanover Township exclusively.  This contracted service is supplemented by the Sheriff’s Office regular patrol units, which serve the western townships of Butler County. Hanover Township is District #6. The dedicated officers patrol subdivisions, county roads, cemeteries, parks and business districts.  They offer information on laws, vehicles, home security, and crime prevention programs and provide monthly reports to the Township Administration during regularly scheduled Board of Trustees meetings.  Some summary statistics for the month of September 2010 reported at the October Board meeting include:

It is the Township Trustees’ charge that officers stay abreast of all activities and events in Hanover Township and remain visible.  A citizen survey conducted by Hanover Township and Miami University indicated the respondents expressed an overall satisfaction with their police protection by agreeing (52%) and strongly agreeing (24.1%) respectively.  We are very proud of our officers who help keep Hanover Township safe, secure and free from criminal activity. Questions regarding the law enforcement contract services may be directed to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office or the Hanover Township Administrator.
