Bay Township in Ottawa County, Ohio lies just west of the city of Port Clinton, the county seat. The township was named for the Sandusky Bay that comprises its southern boundary; its boundary to the north is the Portage River. |

The Little Portage River flows through the northwest quadrant of the township running along the state- owned Little Portage River Wildlife Area and then emptying into the Portage River. |

Bay Township is primarily rural and agricultural in nature. Farms and hunting marshes predominate the area. There were about 900 residences at the time of the 2010 census. Homes are scattered through the rural areas or located in several subdivisions. |
