Roads / Cemeteries
The Wayne Township Road Department maintains approximately 30 miles of roadways. The department is staffed by three personnel: Road Superintendent Ed Truster and Crewmen Paul Riley and Gary Fall. Some of the department’s duties are:
- Snow and ice control
- Branches and tree removal from road or right-of-ways
- Mowing of roadways
- Ditching along roadsides
- Road sign repair or replacement
- Pre-work for contracted paving
- Durapatching (patching of cracks and potholes)
- Berming of roadsides
- Culvert repair or replacement
- Maintenance of township vehicles, machinery, and buildings
- Mowing and maintenance of township cemeteries

Wayne Township Maintained Cemeteries
Wayne Township has five cemeteries that they maintain:
- Simonson Chapel Cemetery (active)
- Shiloh Baptist Cemetery (closed for burial)
- Cotton Run Cemetery (closed for burial)
- Old Jacksonburg Cemetery (closed for burial)
- Belsford-Briedenbooker Cemetery (closed for burial)
