The Ohio Township
Association is organized in 87 Ohio counties. The Association
has more than 5,200 active members, made up of trustees and fiscal officers
from Ohio's 1,308 townships, and more than 4,000 associate members. |

| The Ohio Township
Association’s membership is organized through County
Township Associations (CTA). Any Ohio resident or business that wishes
to join the State Association must join through their CTA. Ohio residents
can join the State Association in one of two categories. |

| Active membership
is only available to elected township officials – trustees and fiscal
officers. Annual membership dues for active members are $35 per person
($33 for dues and $2 for the "Ohio Township News," the Association’s
bi-monthly magazine). Dues are payable from the township’s general
fund. Townships that are not members of the State Association are not
eligible to participate in OTARMA
or OTAHP programs. The State Association has approximately 99 percent
membership of potential active members. |

Associate membership
is available to any person or company that is interested in supporting
township government. Townships are encouraged to register all of their
township employees, including zoning inspectors, administrators, cemetery
superintendents, fire departments, road departments and police departments,
as associate members. County officials, vendors and local businesses are
welcome as well. All libraries, schools and newspapers also make great
associate members and are considered “freebies” for the county
since the State Association does not charge those entities for the magazine. |

Associate members
receive the State Association magazine and are encouraged to attend the
two annual conferences at the member rate. These educational opportunities
are invaluable to township employees. |
