About the OTA

The Ohio Township Association is a statewide organization dedicated to the promotion and preservation of township government in Ohio. The Association was founded on June 28, 1928, and is organized in 87 Ohio counties. The Association has more than 5,200 active members, made up of trustees and fiscal officers from Ohio's 1,308 townships, and more than 4,000 associate members.
 
The State Association acts under the direction of a Board of Directors. Sixteen board members and four officers - President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer - serve four-year terms. Elections are held at the Winter Conference every two years.
 
Five OTA staff members run the day-to-day operations of the State Association office. They are available to answer questions between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday - Friday, at (614) 863-0045.
