Description: This is a workshop about developing a better understanding of the concept of sustainable communities and learning about the principles and practices that provide a framework for developing sustainable communities. The workshop is designed to explore the relationships between growth, development, environment, ecology, social structures and the civic culture.

II. How do we begin the process of moving toward a sustainable community?
 
      • Building a Sense of Community
      • Developing a Community Consensus
      • Working to Build Community Pride
        • Evaluating and Changing the Physical Appearance of the Community
      • Establishing Effective Community Networks
        • Building Linkage Between and Among Different Segments of the Community
      • Creating a Community Development Plan
III. Who should be involved in the process?
 

Developing a local initiative and engaging the community.
