Perry Township Fire Chief

Perry Township, Stark County, Ohio seeks an innovative professional with strong leadership abilities and fire management experience to serve as Fire Chief. The ideal candidate will be an energetic and strong leader with excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will be a competent team builder and a visionary who is able to see the big picture and think strategically about the direction of the Department with an always "on-duty" attitude. Perry Township has three fire stations and responds to approximately 2,500 calls per year of which 85% are emergency medical calls with a budget of $3,330,000. A Bachelor's Degree in Fire Science, Public Administration, or a related field, and 10 years of growth in the field including increasingly responsible experience in a variety of administrative and supervisory duties in a command position is preferred or Perry Township Board satisfactory equivalent. Comprehensive knowledge of current issues in fire management and the principles of public administration, comprehensive knowledge of building construction codes; the ability to organize, direct and control local fire and emergency operations consistent with the requirements of laws, union contracts and township policy is a must. Experience working in a combination volunteer/paid department is preferred. Salary range is $52,000-$60,000 with excellent benefits including health, dental, eye and life insurance and pension.
